Application
EvoCrete® is used for the modification and stabilization of all kinds of natural in-situ soils like clay, silt, sand, gravel and crushed/ recycled aggregates from concrete or a mixture of these soil types.
- EvoCrete® neutralises and destroys the organic acids and organic materials in the soil, thereby creating the most optimal environment for the cement reaction
- EvoCrete® uses the surface charges on the top of the minerals to fix them into a new mineralogical/crystalline structure
- EvoCrete® delivers increased compressive bending and tensile strength with an approximate 20 – 37% reduction in cement/m3
- EvoCrete® supports Roller Compacted Concrete
Make up and Advantages
- EvoCrete® is a whitish powder composed of alkaline and alkaline earth elements which supports the cement hydration process and counteracts the negative influences of the presence of acids etc.
- EvoCrete’s chemical reaction with the cement clinker results in the formation of a high quality C-S-H hydration paste and new minerals and crystalline structures during the cement hydration process.
- EvoCrete® absorbs the excess water molecules into the new longer crystalline structures and further expels the water, thereby reducing the porosity of the concrete and increasing the durability. At the same time it reduces the risk of premature cracking and shrinking.
- The new and longer crystalline structures results in an increase in the concrete’s compressive strength, bending tensile strength and early strength development.
- EvoCrete® further reactions with cement results in the immobilization and permanent capture of harmful substances that can endanger the environment like heavy metals as well as other organic materials.
Cost Savings:
- Reduction of costs for earth excavation
- Reduction of transports needed to landfill sites
- Reduction of purchases of materials for base layer and anti-frost layer
- Reduction of supplies of building materials
- Reduction of top coats
- Reduction of costs for repairs
- Reduction of maintenance costs
- No anti-capillary layers needed
- Immobilization of hazardous materials without disposal and landfill charges
- Approximately 20 – 37% reduction in cement requirements
Time Savings:
- Reduction of time expenditure for death excavation
- Reduction of transports needed to landfill sites
- Reduction of deliveries of materials for base layer and anti-frost layer
- Reduction of supplies of building materials
- Possibility to avoid depth foundations (after prior static inspection and if foundation conditions are favorable)
- Stabilization and immobilization possible in one procedure
Worldwide Applications in the
Oil and Gas Industry
EvoCrete® – soil solidification and concrete modification
Our contribution for a new standard in road construction, by time and cost savings.
EvoCrete® is the third stage of evolution and is the result of a consistent, market focused further development of the products InfraCrete® and GeoCrete®.
Numerous scientific suitability tests and laboratory investigations carried out by external institutes as well as the use of EvoCrete® within a number of building projects worldwide under the most diverse geological and meteorological conditions substantiate that above all in respect of effectiveness and achieved results EvoCrete® fulfils the individual requirements of our customers in an optimal way. EvoCrete® is a whitish powder which is composed of alcaline and alcaline-earth elements. EvoCrete® supports the cement hydration process and counteracts the negative influencing fuolvo and carbon acids.
Transformations in the structure and the additional new formation of minerals of the cement hydration lead to an increase of the compressive strength. Besides the increase of the compressive strength EvoCrete® supports the immobilization of harmful substances endangering the environment like heavy metals as well as organic parameters. These substances can be fixed permanently in the new formed crystal structures. Stabilized bases courses treated with cement only, usually combine high stiffness with a high risk on premature cracking. This undesirable combination was regarded as a major handicap for stabilizing.
The use of EvoCrete® ST, in combination with cement, reduces the dangerous of premature cracking significantly.
The unique performance of EvoCrete® product range is now also available for reinforced concrete. It’s the only cement and soil solidifier, which is certified by CE mark and fully tested product, matching EU and world standards (IAF).
Application Example
Reconstruction of a Waste Management Facility
The city of Marburg has planned to build a container storage area in Martburg-Wehrda. The container storage area had to be constructed on a former landfill in the immediate vicinity of the refuse reloading station in the industrial area of Marburg-Wehrda. The city of Marburg and consulting engineers have planned to reinforce the mixed-grain filling of the surface with the EvoCrete system in order to eliminate or minimize typically occurring baselayer damage. Due to the uneven land level, some parts of the approx. 5000 m2 project area needed to be filled up with soil to the level of the final, precise, grade level.

Special Binder added
The special binder EvoCrete was spread onto the stabilization area using a binder spreader and milled 0.30 m deep into the in-situ soil with a Wirtgen WR 2500

Irrigation
Water truck was used to irrigate the base course

Second Milling
After the irrigation of the base course, a second milling was conducted to mix the added water into the base course. After homogenization of the applied water with the binder - soil mixture

Dynamically Compacted
Immediately after the irrigation of the soil - binder mixture is finished, the base course was dynamically compacted and precise levelled using a grader

Created with EvoCrete
At the waste management facility a garbage container was offloaded. The base layer is created with EvoCrete

16 Years later
This photograph of the stabilised site was taken in 2018. It was 16 years after construction, and the asphalt pavement shows no deformation or cracks. During this time period, no maintenance was required.

Certificates
CE – accreditation is granted to Shamrock GeoScience Ltd. according to „REGULATION (EU) No 305 / 2011 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 9 March 2011 – laying down harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing Council Directive 89 / 106 / EEC”.
IAF – Accreditation bodies around the world, which have been evaluated by peers as competent, have signed an arrangement, the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA), that enhances the acceptance of goods and services across national borders. The purpose of the MLA, is to ensure mutual recognition of accredited certification between signatories to the MLA, and subsequently acceptance of accredited certification in many markets based on one accreditation. Accreditations granted by IAF MLA signatories are recognized worldwide based on their equivalent accreditation programs, therefore reducing costs and adding value to business and consumers.
